Off the Mark Activity for the TI Graphing Calculators
This activity is designed as a Teacher Demo and whole class discussion. The aim is to deepen students’ understanding of quadratic functions and to strengthen connections between representations by examining the attributes of the function in terms of a Car moving with a linearly varying speed while relying on multiple representations. This activity deals with acceleration versus deceleration in a velocity and position graph. The motion and marks are heavily used throughout this activity and will be very helpful to students.
