Classroom Connectivity: Research Materials
|
We have developed and are continuing to enhance certain packages of core
curriculum materials for Algebra I to take advantage of classroom
connectivity.
The goal is to enhance both learning and teaching using the new levels of connectivity provided by the
TI Navigator Network system.
|
|
The two current Network Packages allow the teacher to take advantage of four possible Navigator Opportunities:
- Classroom Discussion Function Feedback: Uploading student-built
functions based on a MathWorlds document, as part of a teacher-led
discussion. This gives you a sense of what students are thinking
and draws them into an active role.
- Classroom Discussion Polling Feedback: Multiple-Choice Polling
based on teacher questions where students are not working on a
MathWorlds document.
- Student Activity Public Sharing: Particular constructions by
students or small groups are shown publicly, for a variety of
purposes—pointing out a particular strategy or pattern of thinking;
contributing to a potential pattern where the constructions are made
to vary in some systematic way; comparing "best solutions" in the
style of a performance, and so on). Some especially interesting
opportunities occur in the context of the CBR Animator Options,
where the teacher can compare "best fit" solutions, and where
students can create interesting motions to show to the entire class,
as performances.
- Student Activity Administration of Homework and Quizzes: Student
work can be distributed and collected for grading, etc., including
Quickie Quizzes to lead off the day’s work. In the future, grading
and grade-book services will be provided for your convenience.
